In order to perform at the highest level possible an athlete must be able to run fast, change directions and accelerate as fast as possible. Training specific movements allows the athlete to perform these tasks quicker and safer. The speed and agility class is designed to focus on improvement of speed, agility, core strength and flexibility. Each session will incorporate exercise targeting these four areas, allowing the athlete the ability to perform at his or her highest level. Each session will last an hour and will begin with a warm-up, followed by 3-5 stations with different exercises targeting speed, agility and quickness. Each session will also include core exercises aimed at strengthening the athletes' abdominals, oblique's and lower back. Each session will conclude with a cool down including proper stretching techniques aimed at injury prevention and recovery for the athlete.
