Tad has 28 years of professional baseball experience as a player, scout, coach and executive. As a player Tad was a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros for 6 seasons. After his playing career was over he joined the Houston Astros Scouting Department where he worked as a scout in the upper midwest and also served as a pitching coach in the Astros minor league system. He became Central Region Scouting Supervisor and eventually became National Crosschecker. In 2005 he was named Coordinator of Amateur Scouting for the Astros. His duties included overseeing the day to day operations of the Scouting Department and was responsible for selecting the players in the MLB Draft. That year he also served as Advance Scout for the 2005 World Series between the Astros and the White Sox. After 3 years as Coordinator of Amateur Scouting he was assigned to the Major League Scouting Staff. During his tenure in Houston Tad played a big part in scouting and developing over 100 major league players for the Astros. In 2012 Tad started Dream Big Athletics on a full time basis. As President/Owner of DBA he has developed the skills of many youth players. He and his staff have helped place over 100 players in college baseball and Dream Big has had 4 players drafted in the MLB Draft and 2 playing in the Major Leagues. Tad continues to grow the training and development of DBA and its Athletes through the Illinois Patriots Travel Baseball Club and many camp and training offerings.
